Power cuts are usually longer in outer areas such as Depalpur, Sanwer and Hatod than in the city centre, and industrial areas see voltage dips when heavy machines start. The Ajax hub keeps running for about 15 hours on battery and the Dahua hub for about 12 hours. Mobile coverage differs between a ground-floor shop and a basement or RCC godown near Siyaganj, so the hub is placed where the SIM shows good reception. In tall buildings, floors and lift shafts reduce radio range; an Ajax ReX or a Dahua repeater fixes that. Dust from construction along new corridors means outdoor detectors need a hood and regular cleaning.
- Power cut
- Ajax Hub and Hub 2 keep working for up to about 15 hours on their own battery and ReX for up to about 35 hours; the Dahua hub runs about 12 hours and the hybrid panel up to 36 hours of standby. Every detector and siren has its own battery, so the system stays armed when mains power fails.
- Internet down or no Wi-Fi
- The hub falls back to the SIM card. Ajax Hub uses Ethernet + 2G SIM, Hub (4G) Ethernet + 4G, Hub 2 two SIM cards (2G), Hub 2 (4G) two SIM cards (2G/3G/LTE) and Hub 2 Plus Wi-Fi + Ethernet + two SIM cards. Dahua hubs switch automatically between Wi-Fi, Ethernet and dual SIM (4G/3G/GPRS).
- Which SIM network
- Any network the hub supports works, and the customer provides the SIM card and data plan. A 2G-only hub needs an operator that still runs 2G at your site; where only 4G is reliable, choose Ajax Hub (4G), Hub 2 (4G), Hub 2 Plus or a Dahua hub.
- How alerts reach you
- Alarms arrive on the owner's phone through the Ajax app or the Dahua DMSS app as push notifications; the hubs can also send SMS and make phone calls as per model. BearTech does not run a monitoring centre: the owner and the people added to the app receive and act on the alarm.
- Range and big buildings
- Ajax devices talk to the hub up to 2,000 m and Dahua up to 1,200 m (Hub 2 kit 1,400 m) in open space. Walls, floors and metal shutters reduce this, so godowns, factories and multi-storey houses get an Ajax ReX / ReX 2 or a Dahua Repeater.
- Pets at home
- Ajax MotionProtect and MotionCam ignore pets up to 20 kg, Dahua indoor PIR detectors up to 18 kg and the Dahua outdoor detector up to 40 kg, when mounted as the manufacturer advises.
- False alarms near AC or heaters
- Dual-technology detectors check movement with infrared and microwave together: Ajax MotionProtect Plus and Dahua ARD2231-W2 indoors, Ajax Curtain Outdoor and Dahua ARD2251E-W2 outdoors.
- Seeing what triggered the alarm
- Photo verification needs the right hub: Ajax MotionCam detectors work only with the Hub 2 series (Hub 2, Hub 2 4G, Hub 2 Plus) and ReX 2; the Dahua PIR-Cam sends a picture with the alarm and the Dahua outdoor camera detector needs the Hub 2 kit. Dahua hubs can also link IP cameras on the same LAN.
- Outdoor, heat and monsoon
- Outdoor detectors and sirens work from −25 °C to +60 °C. Ajax outdoor detectors are IP55/IP56 and the Dahua outdoor detector IP66; a hood is available for Ajax MotionProtect Outdoor where rain hits directly.
- Shutters, safes and vaults
- Ajax DoorProtect Plus and Dahua ARD324-W2 add shock and tilt sensing to a door contact; Dahua ARD312 is a heavy contact for metal doors and rolling shutters; Dahua ARD416 senses vibration on glass, doors and safes and ARD421 is a seismic detector for vaults, ATMs and strong rooms.
- Panic and hold-up buttons
- Ajax Button and SpaceControl, the two-button Ajax DoubleButton, the Dahua ARD821-W2 panic button, the Dahua ARA24-W2 SOS key fob and the wired Dahua RC978 raise an alarm on the owner's app without anyone touching the keypad.
- An old wired alarm already fitted
- Existing wired detectors can be kept: Ajax MultiTransmitter takes up to 18 wired zones and ocBridge Plus adds Ajax detectors to a wired panel; Dahua Multi IO converts 16 wired inputs to wireless and the Dahua hybrid panel runs wired and wireless devices together.
- Smoke, heat, CO and water
- Ajax FireProtect detectors, Manual Call Points, the Dahua smoke alarm and the leak detectors give early warning inside the same app. They add early warning to the intrusion alarm; they are not a substitute for a fire-detection system that a building may legally need.
- Gates, lights and pumps
- Ajax Relay and WallSwitch and the Dahua relay and wall switch let the app or an alarm switch a gate trigger, lights or a pump. The Ajax Socket has a Type F (EU) plug, so it needs an adapter on Indian sockets.
- Batteries and warranty
- Detectors run on CR123A, AA, AAA or CR2032 batteries for 2 to 10 years depending on model and settings. Products carry a 2-year warranty as per manufacturer terms; batteries are not covered, and for Dahua damage caused by power fluctuation is not covered.
- Installation and price basis
- All prices are per piece and include GST (price lists of 12 October 2026). Installation is not included in these prices: BearTech quotes it after a site visit or a technical discussion on the phone, once the number of doors, rooms, outdoor points and the wiring are known.
