School Bus Tracking & Parent Alerts

Quick answer

School bus tracking puts a GPS tracker on every bus so the transport office can follow live location, replay routes and receive geofence alerts at stops and the campus gate on TB Track. BearTech trackers start from ₹2,500 (BT400) with SIM, and wired units are fitted free across Madhya Pradesh by BearTech's team or tie-up installers.

Parents worry about two things on a school bus route: has it left yet, and has it arrived. A school transport tracking solution puts a GPS tracker on every bus so the school's transport in-charge can see the whole fleet on one screen, and drivers can be held to a defined route instead of an unrecorded one.

Built on the same TB Track platform used for commercial fleets, a school can set virtual boundaries around the campus and each stop, so it gets an automatic alert when a bus arrives at or leaves a stop — the same underlying alert engine transport companies use for depots, applied to a school run. Combined with RFID student attendance (see that solution under Biometric & Attendance), the bus location data and the child's boarding record can sit on one transport dashboard.

For schools, this turns transport from an unmonitored liability into a tracked, reportable service — useful for parent communication, for route-efficiency reviews, and for answering the transport committee's questions with data instead of guesswork.

Planning stops and geofences before the buses roll

The setup works well only if the routes are written down first. Before installation, ask the transport in-charge to list every bus by number, its driver, and the stops in order. BearTech fits a tracker on each bus, adds them to one TB Track account and names each vehicle by route so the map is easy to read. Geofences are then drawn around the campus gate and the main stops. A dry run on one route, with the in-charge watching alerts on the phone, shows whether any stop boundary needs adjusting before the full term starts.

What the school should decide before ordering

Three decisions save time later. First, who sees the fleet: usually the transport in-charge and the principal, and whether parents get a view limited to their child's bus. Second, the tracker model: buses have an ignition supply, so wired models from the BT400 to the BT800 are the usual choice, and the BT800 uses a Jio 4G SIM. Third, contract vehicles: if some buses or vans belong to a vendor, get the owner's consent for wiring in advance. Count any spare bus too, so a replacement vehicle still shows on the map when a regular bus is in the workshop.

Typical school transport setups in Madhya Pradesh

Requirements vary a lot between schools. A small private school in a district town may run three or four buses on fixed village routes, while a city school in Bhopal or Indore may run many buses plus hired vans across several colonies. Coaching institutes and hostels often add a van or two for pick-ups. In Bhopal, BearTech's own team does the fitting; in Indore, Pithampur, Dewas and Ujjain, the Indore team covers it; other districts are handled by tie-up installers. Ignition alerts also help the school notice when a bus is started well before its scheduled departure.
